SERENDIPITY

Rhonda did not want to sell Avon.
Rhonda’s 14 year old daughter, Carla, had just lost her dental retainer at a fast food restaurant stop, while they were on a road trip, just after Rhonda got done telling her to take care and not lose it in the napkins and throw it away. After spending a small fortune on braces and such for Carla, this was too much for Rhonda. Carla would need to raise the money to pay for her $200 carelessness. Mowing lawns to babysitting was discussed, and Rhonda was thinking Carla could work in Rhonda’s sister’s floral shop, when Rhonda remembered her sister sold Avon. Well Carla, you could sell Avon, I’ll get the account open, and I will help you.
That is how it all started.
Rhonda needed to get more skincare, she used a competing brand for years, but decided to order Avon skincare from Carla. "Was I surprised when my family, friends and co-workers asked what I was doing differently because my skin looked great. Hmmm, something to this I wondered. It was better and less money too." said Rhonda. They too started ordering Avon from Carla. Rhonda, of course, had no intention of selling Avon herself.
Rhonda took Carla to her 1st sales meeting where they mentioned fundraising with Avon. Rhonda said to Carla she could help her with that! She was the Director of the Children’s Ministry at her church and they could start there. They fundraised over $600 in just 2 weeks and before long Rhonda had requests from other churches to help them too! Rhonda, of course, had no intention of selling Avon herself.
Rhonda and Carla learned about Presidents Club, the guaranteed 40% discount, the Mrs. Albee porcelain figurine and the dinner each year plus all the recognition that came with it. "No one ever recognized her at work," Rhonda thought; "She never got this excited feeling from her job, and never heard applause for being a good employee, but she had no intention of selling Avon."
Carla finally earned enough commissions to pay off her Mom and decidedly quit her “Avon business” to be a carefree 14 year old again. By this time Rhonda had developed an Avon addiction and took over where Carla left off.
Time went on and Rhonda found out she had to relocate to a town several hours away. Rhonda’s DSM suggested she start leadership, a team, to take over her customers. Rhonda did just that. Rhonda’s check was exactly $1.16 for her 1st recruit and decided on the spot to recruit 100 people so she could earn $116 in leadership bonus. Rhonda took on leadership in a big way.
Good thing she had Avon, Rhonda and Carla’s dad divorced and Rhonda thought her world would end. It did not, a new chapter was to start and it included a man named Larry Voss. You know how these things go, Rhonda had no intention of ever marrying again, but Larry, sweet, loving, understanding and her biggest cheerleader was her best friend and now her husband, and life was grand! Rhonda says she NEVER could have reached her FULL POTENTIAL without the support and partnership of Larry in her business. Like many successful Avon reps, the husband plays a key role in helping build the business either visibly or behind the scenes. You get more accomplished and two heads are better at solving issues than one!
Rhonda and Larry have been SEUL for years now, earning over 6 figures and they currently lead a 3 Million dollar team. It is funny how things work out, the joy of helping others accomplish success and goals in their lives, gives you satisfaction and a job, which is as fun as it is profitable!
Oh, and Carla? She currently leads a $1.8 Million dollar team as SEUL.
