Your children ARE the reason to build your business, not as an excuse NOT to built it

Lori is happily married with 3 fantastic kids! She sent them to the best Private Schools BECAUSE of her AVON earnings!
Trips she has earned: Bahamas Cruise, Mediterranean Cruise, Foxwoods Trip, Jamaican Trip, Niagara Falls.
She FINALLY EARNED SEUL in Campaign 7 of 2012 after she sat at EUL for 10 years. As a SEUL, she earned the Cruise to Alaska but opted for the alternate cruise through the Mediterranean! That was fabulous, she says!
In 1991, Lori was the Sr. Assistant Manager of Long John Silver’s. She was on maternity leave and after she gave birth to her 2nd child and she really, really had this desire to be a stay at home mom. It was her mother-in-law who suggested that she try AVON! Lori’s driving force was she wanted to raise her kids, not have someone else raise them while she worked! She built her Avon business with her children as the reason TO build it, and not the excuse not to build it!
Lori is in rural Pennsylvania and needed to find customers in a town that she did not know anybody in! To find them, she had to go door to door, and Lori was terrified of that prospect! Lori prayed as she walked up the sidewalks and steps, the fear, of just lifting her hand to either ring a door bell or knock on the door, was strong..…hoping she could just leave her brochure and note if no one answered, then she could come back and meet them after they read her note and called her.
Lori’s reason to work her AVON business and work way outside her comfort zone kept playing over and over in her head as she walked up to those doors, “Do you want to raise those children or do you want someone else raising them?” She would silently tell herself that, and she became less afraid. A funny thing happened along the way. The FEAR gave way to confidence as she kept pushing herself!
Lori’s first year with AVON she earned Honor Society, and was awarded Best New Performer. Since then, she has increased her sales to the level of David McConnell Club!
“Today,” Lori says, “I have no fear. Now, I love going door to door. From terrified to fearless!”
Lori did have her share of hardships. Her mother passed away when she was 25 years old. Her first born was only 5 months old at the time. Her father had his share of health problems from being a smoker since age 14, so Lori was with him on appointments managing the doctor’s visits, operations, and such. She recently lost him this past year, glad that he suffers no more. Lori’s sister, her husband, and son were hit head on by a drunk driver. They could not work or take care of Lori’s kids during her Avon delivery days. Lori then took her children with her while she delivered. As her sister and her husband were in and out of the hospital for 2 years, they could rely on Lori “BECAUSE I DID NOT WORK” …”I LOVE THAT PERCEPTION”, Lori says, “Because my schedule was flexible enough to care for my family as I needed to!
Lori says, "NEVER cease to DREAM BIG!
One of my dreams was to go to Hawaii and thanks to AVON, through Leadership, I was able make it a GOAL...thus marking it off my bucket list!"
